Your Vision for 2024

Keel Point

February 21, 2024

The beginning of each year is a time for spiritual renewal and self-reflection — when many people ask themselves what their goals are for the year ahead and beyond. Sometimes the changes you envision trigger the need for a review of your investment portfolio to determine whether your asset allocation is aligned with your new financial and life goals.

How your goals affect your asset allocation
Asset allocation is the way your investments are divided across asset classes, such as equities, fixed income, alternatives, and cash. When you work with Keel Point, your asset allocation is personalized to your situation and is adjusted when your situation changes.

We create your asset allocation and investment strategy based on key factors, including:

  • Your time horizon. Your future plans for work, your business, and your life have a great impact on your allocation strategy. Generally, the longer your time horizon the more you can allocate to riskier but potentially higher returning asset classes. The shorter your time horizon, the more you will need to allocate to more stable asset classes.
  • Your goals. Setting new goals, such as paying for your grandchildren to go to college, may increase how much money you’ll need in the long run andhow much more you will need to allocate to higher return assets.
  • Your risk tolerance. As you accumulate wealth over time, you may become more concerned about wealth preservation and less about portfolio growth. As a result, your allocation may need to be updated to be
    more conservative.

Why reach out to your Keel Point team?
